Precautions for installation and removal of carriage bolts

There are a lot of carriage bolts we use in our daily life. We must follow the method when disassembling, otherwise it will cause damage to carriage bolts or parts. Let’s refer to the precautions for installation and disassembly of carriage bolts; when the parts are used When installing multiple carriage bolts, complying with the following points can prevent damage and accidents (injuries), and also help us to complete the repair work smoothly.
1. Loosening and tightening sequence
Follow the prescribed sequence and loosen and tighten the carriage bolts evenly each time to prevent bending.
(1) Rectangular parts
When disassembling, loosen the carriage bolts from the outside to the inside. When installing, tighten the carriage bolts from the inside to the outside.
(2) Cylindrical parts
Loosen and tighten the carriage bolts a little at a time in a diagonal direction.
(3) Cover
When disassembling, loosen the carriage bolts from the outside to the inside.
When installing, tighten the carriage bolts from the inside to the outside.
Notice:
Loosening the carriage bolts on only one side will cause deformation and bending of the carriage bolts.
Remove the above parts, some parts need to be tightened and loosened in a special order. Refer to the manual for this operation.
2. Measures to prevent parts from falling
When installing heavy parts, use multiple high-torque carriage bolts. When removing and installing these parts, prevent them from falling.
(1) When disassembling, do not remove all the carriage bolts at once, but temporarily tighten the carriage bolts once they are loose.
(2) The above method can prevent the parts from being removed or moved when the carriage bolts are loosened.
3. The correct working method
(1) When loosening the carriage bolts, if there are heavy parts acting on the carriage bolts, it will be difficult to loosen the carriage bolts smoothly. Prop up this part to eliminate the force acting on the carriage bolts. The carriage bolts on which the gravity of no parts act on them are easy to loosen.
(2) When installing multiple carriage bolts, if only one side is fully tightened, it will be difficult for other carriage bolts to align with carriage bolt holes.
In order to prevent this kind of thing from happening, the whole should be aligned and tightened slightly before tightening.
4. Precautions for installing carriage bolts
When tightening the carriage bolts, you must check whether there is liquid, such as water or oil, in the empty holes of the carriage bolts.
If the carriage bolts are tightened in this condition, the hydraulic pressure becomes high, which will damage the components.
Use of carriage bolt adhesive
To prevent loosening, some carriage bolts should be coated with adhesive. When the carriage bolts are used again, clean the carriage bolts and apply locking adhesive.
In addition, some carriage bolts are coated with locking adhesive when they are supplied. This kind of carriage bolt is called a pre-covered carriage bolt.
It is difficult at first to loosen the carriage bolts applied with the locking adhesive, but once the adhesive loses its effectiveness, it is easy to loosen the carriage bolts.
